Prompt #1:(Easy)

An Instagram Carousel Post

Ok friends, this one is your EASY post for the month. You can make it directly in instagram with text on 5 different pictures, or you can use the quick template I made in Canva by clicking here (make a copy for yourself). The goal is just a very quick, easy, local summer guide - that of course features your flowers. Do not overthink this one. Add some music, a short caption, and call it a day!

Prompt #2: (Medium)

An instagram 'Yapping Reel' With A Hot Take

This is where you let your audience see you get fired up. 

What's something you have hilariously strong opinions on? For this one, we're going to keep it local. So, it doesn't have to do with flowers or farming - we want it to be something  your locals would resonate with. Maybe something that's a running joke or annoyance in your town, or something that no one would usually say out loud, so you're gonna!

Use one of these starters:

"Ok, I'm just gonna say it."
"Hear me out, and don't @ me."
"I'm gonna lose some friends over this, but it's worth it."
"If no one's gonna say it, I will."
"We really have to talk about what's going on it (Portland)."

It could literally be about anything. The line is TOO LONG at the fro-yo spot. Traffic has gotten so bad that you want to pull your hair out. The burger at the new spot is SO good and half as much as the fancy one across town. Your local spots hero is doing something crazy. 

When in doubt, ask your spouse or kid '"what's something I'm always going on about?" - and this doesn't have to define you - it's just ONE post on one day. 

End it with a CTA (call-to-action). Something like "let me know below your thoughts on this," or 'please tell me I'm not alone?" - or "can anyone shed some light on this?".

Notes: Try to keep this reel under one minute. Edit out silences, Look at the camera. Do something with your hands if you feel awkward. Add captions (always) and also add an on-screen title that is a "hook" that adds some context. A good one might be "Portland's mayor has done it again," that stays on screen while you are saying "I have to talk about this". It adds context and draws them in.

Prompt #3: (Hard)

An Instagram Voiceover Reel

They're saying that voiceover reels are performing really well right now, so let's try some!

Note: I made you an example reel! It doesn't follow my exact guidelines below but is pretty close, Click here to check it out (and comment below to let me know you're watching and are gonna try one! You can save it in Instagram as a reference, obviously). 

There are two things to learn and work on here: 1) the actual skill of making and editing a voiceover reel, and then 2) learning how to make the message interesting enough so that people will stop scrolling in order to watch and listen for longer. 

We're going to go for a 'day in the life' style reel here. You can of course stray from this template, but I'm going to give you very specific instructions so you don't have to do any thinking:

Video Clips: 5 short 'B-Roll' Clips (a few seconds each), to go with each part of the voiceover the below. If you don't have the perfect footage or can't film something useable, use whatever you've got. We're trying to make the whole reel under a minute or as close to that as possible, so keep that in mind - it's hard! I recommend compiling the clips, editing them down in time, and the recording the voiceover - it will most certainly take you a few tries to not sound like you're rushing, and to remove extra words. 

Part 1: "Here's a day in the life of me, Lennie, a flower farmer in Portland Oregon." (Show yourself smiling or waving to the camera).

Part 2: "I start my day by _______. This usually includes ____, but today _____ happened."
Part 3: "Next up is (my favorite part of the day, or, something you wouldn't expect) - this is where I _________.

Part 4: "Then on to_____."
Part 5: "And finally ( I wind down by, or, the LAST project of the day.)._____"

Then finally: "Thanks for following along! Send this to a friend in (Portland) who is always saying they want to get outside more. 

Note: You can also add audio behind your voiceover. I recommend choosing something instrumental only, and lowing the volume WAY down.
