DO NOT MISS OUT! AMAZING THINGS ARE COMING!

May Marketing Prompts

Prompt #1:

An Instagram Carousel Post

The goal here is to make a quick multi-photo post (called a 'carousel post') using random photos from your phone, and 5 thoughts or lessons you're learning from your flowers or your farm. You can make these funny, sweet, thoughtful - whatever your vibe is. Don't overthink it! Make them short, sweet, and punchy.

To design this post, either create it right inside Instagram with any text on screen that is legible (I recommend not using cursive, and making sure there's a color block background as there is in these photos). You DON'T need to use this specific look or template. However, if you're a Canva user, click here to make a copy of this template that you can edit right inside Canva.

Feel free to steal any of my ideas or 'lessons' from below - if you're coming up short, don't reinvent the wheel!

Finally, make sure to add audio to your post! That's what makes it viewable to more people on Instagram.

Prompt #2:

An Instagram Reel expanding on your favorite idea from Prompt #1!

You're not lazy if you start re-using ideas on Instagram, you're brilliant! That's the name of the game here. Take an idea you want to expand on from the carousel post you made from above, and then make what they call a 'talking head reel' where you expand on it. I'm going to show you EXACTLY how I would do this in the videos below.

Note: For the easiest version of this whole reel, just film yourself talking in one clip, from start to finish, right in Instagram, add some captions, and post!

For a slightly more advanced version, film in 3 clips as I show below.

Note that for the advanced version - if you haven't yet, you might want to download the free app called 'Edits' - it's related to Instagram and makes editing even easier. Do a quick youtube search for 'getting started with the Edits app' if you want a little more assistance. I'll show you how I quickly edit the reel in the Edits app in video 2 below (there's no sound to this as it's a screen recording).

Directions: Follow my instructions in the videos below.

Tips:

  • Add captions so that people can still watch your reel even if they're in public!
  • No need to add audio / a song to reels where you're talking.
  • For a caption, feel free to repeat the moral or add a little bit more!

Prompt #3:

A Facebook Post Where You Ask Your Community For Input

The idea here is a simple facebook post where you're getting community members to chime in and connect you to other local businesses. Who knows what could come of this? More exposure, more customers, more potential collaborators.

Ideally you'd post this in a local community group, but if you aren't a member of any, can't find any, or they don't allow you to post from your business page, just make a post on your farm's page (or personal page if you don't have one).

Example:

Hey, Portland, I need your advice! We're looking to partner with more great local businesses this year for our flower farm. So I need to know what great local business owners are out there. Let me know who owns your favorite coffee shop, antique store, bowling alley, you name it! Tag or mention them below as we'd love to connect.

That's it! Add a fun photo or two of your farm or flowers or smiling face - nothing too promotional or spammy.
